SMTP Accounts

vBoxxConnect - SMTP Accounts

With the SMTP Accounts feature of vBoxxConnect, users can send emails directly from another account within the web interface. This means that users can send their Gmail, Hotmail, or any other email account to vBoxxConnect, allowing them to send all their emails from multiple accounts through a single interface.

Connect an SMTP Account

To establish a connection with an external email account, click on + New SMTP Account. Various details are required before vBoxxConnect can connect to the account. If these settings are unknown, it's a good idea to contact your IT or email administrator via the list below.

When creating a new SMTP account, the following options are available:

  • Display Name - The name that should appear in the "FROM" field of emails sent from this account.
  • Server Address - This is the URL you use to log in to the mail server or the address of the mail server you use when connecting to an email client. For example, mail.your-domain.com.
  • Server Port - The port used to connect to the email server. The default port is 25.
  • Encryption - The type of encryption required by the external email server. Many ISPs and service providers require you to use SSL to send emails.
  • Email Address - The full email address corresponding to the external email server, for example, person@mail.com.
  • Enable Authentication - Select this option if SMTP authentication is required to send emails from this email address. This means that when you try to send a message with this account, vBoxxConnect sends your login credentials back to the sending server to verify your address and let the sending mail server know that you are authorized to send email from that account.
  • Username - The identification used to verify with the external email server. In many cases, this and the email address should be identical.
  • Password - The password used to verify with the external email server.

Delete an SMTP Account

To delete an SMTP account or simply reset the connection, click on the account in the list of SMTP accounts. Then click on Delete.
