vBoxxConnect - Spam

vBoxxConnect offers several options to take measures against receiving spam and unwanted emails. You can configure settings to automatically delete spam with low or high vulnerabilities, move them to a separate inbox, or give them specific text to stand out.

You can set this up by logging in to connect.vboxx.nl and navigating to More > Settings > Spam Filtering.

Below is an overview of the specific settings you can make:

Options

  • Override Spam Settings: Apply this setting to customize how spam is received. This overrides the spam settings set by your domain. If this option is disabled, the default domain settings will be used.
  • Low, Medium, and High probabilities: The different values for indicated spam messages. You can choose from three options:
    • Delete message: Remove the message from the inbox.
    • Move to Junk Email Folder: Move the message to the junk email folder.
    • Add Text to Subject: Add text to the subject of the spam message to indicate that it is spam.

Trusted Senders

Users can add trusted domains or trusted email addresses that will not be recognized as spam. To add an address, click on the pencil icon. Maximum one address per line. There are two different options:

  • Trusted domains: Trusted domains, such as example.com.
  • Trusted Email Addresses: Trusted email addresses, such as test@email.com.

Blocked Senders

Users can add specific accounts to their list of Blocked Senders by clicking on the pencil icon. Users can also add the sender of a received email to the Blocked list from the inbox. This can be done in two ways:

  • Right-click on the message > Block Sender
  • Click on the message > three dots at the top > Block Sender

When you do this, that message and all future messages from that specific sender will receive the action set in the Blocked Senders setting. This gives users more detailed control over senders that don't pass through the system administrator's spam filters. IMPORTANT: The actions set in the Blocked Senders setting apply only to the user who has configured them - they are not applied to the entire domain or the entire system.
