vBoxxConnect - Events

The Event system in vBoxxConnect is a flexible tool that allows users to automatically perform actions based on specific criteria and stay informed about what is happening with the vBoxxConnect server. vBoxxConnect can detect events as they occur, generate messages for those events, and deliver the messages to users who need the information. For example, users can automatically add an additional recipient to messages they send or receive notifications when a task needs to be performed or when their user's disk space has reached a certain threshold.

When you go to your events page, a complete list of events created for a user is displayed. If no events have been created, this page may be empty. Any existing events can be edited as needed by simply clicking on them. Events can also be deleted from this page.

To create a new Event, navigate to connect.vboxx.nl > More > Settings > Events > New

When creating events, the following cards are available, and each card contains options related to its purpose:

General

  • Event name - The descriptive name for the event.
  • Event status - New events are assigned the Enabled status by default. However, if you want to temporarily prevent an event from being triggered, you can change the status to Disabled.
  • Event Category - The function to which the event relates: Email, User, or Collaboration.
  • Event Type - The event that triggers the action. Each category has different specific event types that can trigger the action.
  • User - The user to whom the event applies.

Event Categories and Types

Below is a list of the Event Categories and the Event Types available for each event for User Events:

Email

  • Message Received
  • Message Sent

User

  • User Disk Space Used

Collaboration

  • Calendar Reminder Occurred
  • Task Reminder Occurred

Conditions

Each event type has its own associated conditions. The general conditions that occur with all event types are listed below. Multiple conditions can be used when creating a specific event. The conditions are checked in order, from top to bottom, before the Action(s) is/are performed.

  • Time of Day
  • Day of Week

Below are the Event Event Conditions that are available and their respective Conditions:

Email Addresses

  • From Address - The email address from which the email message is sent.
  • From Domain - The domain from which the email message is sent.
  • To Address - The email address to which the email message is sent.
  • To Domain - The domain to which the email message is intended to be sent.
  • Subject - The words that trigger the event if found within the subject of the message.
  • Size (KB) - The message size in KB that triggers the event.
  • Intra Domain - Select this option to activate the event when an email is sent/received from the domain.
  • Spam Level - The spam level of the message: usually Low, Medium, or High.
  • Messages an Hour - The total number of emails sent in an hour.

User

  • Domain - The domain on which the event occurs.
  • Full Name - The full name of the person triggering the event.
  • Mailbox Usage (%) - The percentage of mailbox space usage that triggers the event.
  • Mailbox Usage (MB)- The usage of mailbox space in MB that triggers the event.
  • Username - The username that triggers the event.

Collaboration

  • Subject - The words that trigger the event if found within the appointment or task subject.
  • Location - The appointment location that triggers the event.
  • Description - The words that trigger the event if found in the appointment or task description.
  • Email Address - The email address that triggers the event.
  • Priority - The priority level assigned to a task.
  • Percent Complete - The percentage completed of the task.
  • Status - The status of the task.

Actions

Each event type has its own associated actions. The global actions that occur with all event types are listed below. Multiple actions can be assigned to a specific event. Actions are performed in order, from top to bottom.

  • Show a notification - This option displays a notification in the Notifications window. It can also send a pop-up browser notification.
  • Send an email - This option sends an email to the specified address.
  • Add Recipient - Adds a recipient to the message. (Only for the email event category)
